Evervalley - Bloodlines: Big Progress Update

Hey everyone!

We’re back with a huge update on Evervalley - Bloodlines — and wow, a lot has changed! We’ve been hard at work refining the game’s systems, visuals, and world to make it the best fantasy tactical experience we can.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been working on:

Unit System Overhaul

Mercenary Beginnings

Every new recruit starts out as a Mercenary now. They’ll only earn a real class (Knight, Archer, Wizard, or Cleric) after surviving their first real mission!

Ranks and Titles

As units level up, they earn rank titles like Acolyte, Pathwarden, and Guardian — all the way up to the rare and powerful title of Hero. This gives every unit a sense of personal growth, no matter what class they are.

Better Visual System

We switched to self-contained prefabs for each unit class and gender. Visual changes are now smoother, more flexible, and super clean on the backend.

Combat and Mechanics Improvements

New Line of Sight Rules

Enemies now have a cone of vision instead of seeing everything around them. You can sneak around, set up ambushes, and surprise them — if you play smart.

Cover System

Units now snap to cover and get bonuses when they’re protected. Plus, they show a cover icon when they're safely tucked in, so you always know when you’re making a smart move.

Height Advantage Bonus

Archers and Wizards can deal extra damage when firing from higher ground. Just a little extra reward for smart positioning!

Vision = Attack Range

No random attack distances here. If you can see it, you can hit it. Clean and tactical.

Battlefield Spawning Revamp

Enemy spawns are now managed through zones, and we track active enemies to end battles cleanly when the last enemy falls.

Leveling and Equipment

XP from Kills Only

Units only gain experience by killing enemies, making every takedown valuable.

Ability Choices at Every Level

As units level up, you’ll choose between two different abilities at each tier — letting you specialize your troops however you want.

Starter Gear + Forge Crafting

New mercenaries start with preset weapons and armor.

Random loot is gone — instead, you’ll unlock new equipment through Research & Development at the Blacksmith Forge, a special room you can build in your stronghold!

Stat Scaling

Unit stats now grow predictably, but enemy scaling keeps things challenging without being unfair. (And no weird difficulty spikes!)

World and Strategy Layer

World Map and Provinces

The world map features 12 provinces. Each month, they’ll send you resources... unless they fall into Dread.

Ward Towers

Deploy Ward Towers to protect key provinces and lower Dread. Lose too many provinces, and you might lose the war.

Stronghold Building

Your castle stronghold grows as you complete story milestones. New rooms like the Blacksmith Forge, upgrades, and new facilities will help you survive the coming darkness.

Story and Cinematics

The Necromancer King Returns

The story is shaping up: an ancient Necromancer King is back to crush the living world, and it’s up to you to build a force strong enough to stop him.

Cinematic Style

We’re using layered still-image cinematics with light motion to tell the story — creating a dark, beautiful storybook feel.
